This morning I had the pleasure of meeting my friend Robin for breakfast. We decided that was the best way for her to get her Marker Club products and for us to have a little “catch up”. It had been a few weeks since we had seen each other. I’ve been sharing lots of little RAK items on my blog and talking about why you should take the trouble. This morning was a perfect example! I took along one of the Tiny Treat Boxes that I’ve been decorating lately. When I gave it to my friend, her whole face lit up! She asked “why” and I said “just because”. Her response? She liked it so much that she wants to do that for others!! I think that’s the coolest part. I made someone feel good with a small handmade item and they want to do it for someone else. It doesn’t get any better than that!!

Butterfly Basics for GDP082
When I finally got to the creative part of my day,
I pulled out Butterfly Basics to combine it with the GDP082 sketch.
The card starts with a Basic Black base.
Then, I cut a Basic Black layer and added the two designs from Pop of Pink.
By adding them to the Basic Black layer, it made them sturdy enough to pop up with Dimensionals.
Sketch
Here’s the sketch I worked from:

Next, I cut the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
with a die from Swirly Scribbles.
Tip: I peel the shiny backing off of the Glimmer Paper before die cutting.
That leaves me with a paper back that is easy to add adhesive to.
Since the Butterfly Basics stamps I use are photopolymer, I cut the Whisper White circle with the Stitched Shapes Framelits first.
Then, I inked the sentiment in Basic Black and stamped. This was an easy way to make sure I was fairly well centered.
Before attaching the circle with Dimensionals, I made the tassel using Sending Love designer paper and attached it with Glue Dots.
Finally, I added some Basic Rhinestones to accent the sentiment and a piece of coordinating Pop of Pink washi for the inside of the card.
I’ve got a quick “how to” for the tassel coming tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Butterfly Basics card.

I’d love to be your demonstrator if you’re in the United States!
I love your paper tassels! And especially love the glimmer paper!
Lisa, glad you enjoyed this idea for using small pieces of your designer paper!
Sara, this is a gorgeous and striking card, but the real highlight is that tassel! I can’t believe you made it out of paper!! You are so clever! We love you playing along with us here at Global Design Project!
Thank GDP Team!! and thank you for another wonderful sketch! It was the perfect thing when I hit my creative time yesterday.
