Botanical Blooms in Black and White

While we’ve been having a lazy morning, I’ve had this idea rolling around in my head.  I’ve played a little and stepped back and taken a “Sherlock” break and then played some more.  I think the playing resulted in a neat black and white card using Botanical Blooms.

The black and white background design was what was rolling around in my head.  “Tropical” is very big right now.  Good thing! As I can’t get enough of the Botanical Blooms bundle!

To create my background, I cut out two of the leaves available in both stamps and framelits in the Botanical Blooms bundle.  After stamping the veins for the leaves, I took my Project Life 01 pen and traced around the die cut to form the leaf outline.  I love how the skills we learned in kindergarten are still useful today 🙂

Next, I added a couple of the frond die cuts layered with two of the flowers.

I’ve embellished the flower with a Silver Metallic Thread bow woven through the petals and an Iced Rhinestone for the center.

I used a piece of Everyday Chic designer paper for a banner.  To it, I added an accent row of small Basic Rhinestones.
