It was a busy week last week. I’m sure you can tell by my amount of creativity. There was helping to finish up props for the band’s field show, the football game on Friday, a competition on Saturday and a fun afternoon at Raub’s Farm while the pep band entertained. Then we were off for the rest of the long weekend so, we drove down to spend the rest of our time with my family. Woohoo!! I needed that! Though it was a busy time with lots of driving, I feel so refreshed. And more important, I feel ready to create. So, let me show you what I created with Bohemian Borders.
As soon as I looked at GDP006 this morning I knew that I wanted to use images from Bohemian Borders. They were perfect for the sketch.
I went with a black and white palette with a pop of Real Red. In fact, I thought the card was finished and I had photographed it and was ready to upload when I spotted a thin strip of Real Read cardstock. I added that strip diagonally above the Go Wild designer paper. It was the perfect finishing touch.
But, let’s back it up a bit. The focal layer is Whisper White with four diagonal lines of stamping. The bottom two lines are a repeated image from Bohemian Borders inked in archival Basic Black. The next line up, “congrats”, is from Tin of Cards and inked in Real Red. And the top line is once again from Bohemian Borders and inked in archival Basic Black.
Next, I added embellishments. There’s a scattering of Metallics sequins topped with Basic Rhinestones. Plus, there are a couple of Basic Rhinestones separating the “congrats”.
The focal layer sits on a layer of Real Red followed by a Basic Black cardstock base.
It feels good to be creating again!
