It’s been a busy couple of days as I packaged up all of the Bloomin’ Love Valentines Kits that were ordered this month. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support!! I am happy to say that all of the kits went in the mail today. So barring any weather issues, you should be receiving your kits in the next 2 to 3 days. I’ll have a new kit available beginning February 1.
After getting the mailing ready, I wanted to do a little creating so I turned to GDP020 and combined it with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits. The challenge was to CASE a sample. This means you can straight up copy it, choose similar colors or designs or use it just for inspiration.
Here’s my CASE for GDP020
I LOVE the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlit but, pretty much everything I’ve seen has been very feminine. That’s okay as I like feminine. But after seeing the sample for the CASE, I pulled out some Bohemian designer series paper and thought I’d give a masculine feeling card a shot.
The designer paper picks up the stripes (with a twist) that were on the original.
Next,
I added the filigree heart cut with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits from a piece of Bohemian designer paper. I don’t usually think purple and masculine in the same sentence but, I think this works.
After adhering the filigree heart, I added a few gold sequin hearts from the Metallics Sequin Assortment.
And in the center of one of the flowers in the heart, I’ve added a gold sequin star topped by a Basic Pearl.
Finally,
I added a strip of Gold Sequin Trim in answer to the Baker’s Twine embellishment on the original.
So that’s my Bohemian Bloomin’ Heart card.
Can you buy masculine? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Sara – Love your heart in Blackberry Bliss – so happy to see this paper from the Annual Catalog. Great card! Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Case the Designer (Connie Collins) Challenge at Global Design Project.
SAra, I love your choice of colours and the heart motiff from Connie’s original card. Very clever thinking using that DSP to represent the stripes too. Thanks for playing at Global Design Project this week!
Sara, I love how you switched out the bold stripes for a more subtle background choice. Great use of the inspiration piece. Thanks for joining us this week at Global Design Project.
Beatiful card you´ve created. Thank´s for playing with us. Hugs Tanja
