I haven’t been feeling particularly creative the last few days. Hacking my head off doesn’t bring on many creative ideas. I did have a quiet spell yesterday afternoon and put a card together using Best Thoughts. And while the coughing seems to have stopped for a bit, I thought I’d sneak over to my computer and get it posted.
I just love this flower in the Best Thoughts stamp set. And I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t inked it up before.
It was stamped twice in Versamark on Very Vanilla cardstock and then heat embossed in Gold. The flowers were then fussy cut and layered with dimensionals on the vellum layer.
I used the Brushstrokes background stamp to create the distressed, gold embossed stripes on the vellum. Remember to heat gently so as not to buckle the vellum. To adhere the vellum to the designer paper, I randomly placed a few Glue Dots behind the stripes. I didn’t want the vellum stuck down completely flush — just stuck to the designer paper lightly as this gives a little more dimension.
Under the vellum is a layer of Crumb Cake designer paper from the Neutrals stack (it will be available in July).
And the whole piece sits on a base of Very Vanilla cardstock.
This seemed like a nice, elegant card for a wedding or anniversary.
