Hi! Hope you’re having a lovely day. I’ve begun pulling things out and together today. It will soon look like a holiday feast here. Then we’ll just need to prepare the food and wait for guests. Little by little, I’m trying to fit in my pictures and swaps from OnStage. So today seemed like a good day to share my Best Birds OnStage Swap card. This card was for the Creation Station blog hop team swap. It was great to meet some of the other team members! Generally, we know each other online. Which is awesome! As I get to know people from all over the world.

My card starts with a Very Vanilla cardstock base.
Then, I added a layer of Crumb Cake.
For this card, I cut my layers to a slightly different size.
The mat is 4″ and the Very Vanilla focal layer is 3-7/8″.
I like the combined look of the narrow mat layer and then the 1/4″ border on the card base.

For my background, I first clear embossed the crosshatch image from Best Birds.
Then, I used Pool Party ink to watercolor.
To get some of that defined bleed along the edges of the watercolor, I used my Heat Tool.
Tip: When planning to cut the tree branch, arrange it over the die and then attach the block.
The branch ordinarily is a slightly different shape than the die. But since it is photopolymer, you can change the shape.

Before cutting out all of my pieces, it was time to color.
I used a combination of Stampin’ Blends.
They’re just beautiful to color with!
I finished the berries with some Fine Tip Glue for sheen and shape.
Finishing touches were a strip of designer paper and a loose winding of gold Metallic Thread.
