Beautiful Peacock Birthday

Hi! Welcome to my blog.  I rolled into my mom’s last night in time for us to have a late dinner and spend a few hours hanging out before bed time — mine, not hers.  She’s usually up much later than I am.  Today, we’ll run some errands and hang out more.  I love that my Stampin’ Up! job gives me the flexibility to schedule so that I can regularly visit with my mom.  Today, I’m sharing my Beautiful Peacock Birthday card that I made for a friend.

Beautiful Peacock Birthday

For my base, I used Tranquil Tide.

Then, I added a layer of Gold Foil Paper.

That band of gold really lifts this card up!

Next, I stamped the images from Beautiful Peacock on Whisper White.

I used Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide and Gold embossing to create visual interest.

Then, I cut all of the pieces out by hand (aka fussy cut).

To keep the tail light and airy, I adhered only the bottom portion of each “feather”.

And to give the feathers on the Night of Navy piece more dimension, I used Fine Tip Glue and then embossed in gold.

While the sentiment from Beautiful Peacock does not say “happy birthday”,

my friend is a beautiful person.

I wished her a happy birthday on the inside.

To finish the card, I embossed those lovely little flower like images.

They’re a perfect visual texture addition for lots of creations!
