It was rainy and overcast here most of the day yesterday. And this morning has started with a shroud of fog. But what fun! Every now and then I see a flash of color — one of the resident cardinals popping onto my deck. I just took a look out the windows and Fall is definitely on the way — though the temperatures don’t say it yet. The tree across the street that is the harbinger of Fall is suddenly half red while the surrounding trees are still green — that’s the annual way. And out another window, I noticed that the Dogwood berries have changed color and the leaves have begun to turn. Not long now. My flowers are almost done so, I’m ready for some other color in the landscape. Are you ready?
My creation today uses Banners for You and the TSOT289 sketch.
I hope you’ll play along with the design team.
I started with a Night of Navy carrd base measuring 5-1/2′ x 8-1/2″ that’s been scored down the middle.
Then, I added a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Floral Boutique designer paper.
I’ve used this same pattern to line the inside of my medium Whisper White Envelope.
The Whisper White focal layer measures 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.
Next, I stamped the banner and sentiment in Night of Navy ink and die cut with the coordinating Bunch of Banners Framelits.
Using the negative from the banner die cut, I lightly marked the focal area so that I would know where the top, bottom and sides of the banner would be.
Then, I used the leaves and flowers from Banners for You to create a background design to make the most of the area that the banner would not cover.
Once that stamping was done, the banner was added to the focal layer with Dimensionals.
On top of the Floral Boutique background layer is a 1″ x 4-1/4″ strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. Love that added bit of sparkle!
And peeking out at the bottom of the focal layer are two small banners made from other Floral Boutique patterns. One banner measures 3/4″ x 1-1/2″ and the other is just a bit larger at 1″ x 1-1/2″. To cut an even “V” at the bottom of the banners, use your Paper Snips to cut up the center as high as you want the “V” and then cut in from either side to meet the center point – easy!
Add the focal layer with Dimensionals and then tuck the banners into place.
To the inside of the card I added a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White. And to finish it, I stamped the leaf and flower images from Banners for You in the lower right hand corner.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Banners for You card!
