I love black! In fact when kids ask what my favorite color is the answer is “black”. For years it’s been a staple of my wardrobe. Practically anything can go with it. While at the same time, it doesn’t take much to give it a little pop.
Needless to say, one of the first designer papers I purchased, when the new catalog came out, was Back to Black. Though I haven’t used it much. More of that hating to use something that I really like. With my supplies, that means the first few cuts are the hardest.
For #stampingsunday, we’re all creating with Back to Black.
After picking my designer paper pattern, I decided I would play with the hexagon design. Kinda of pattern on pattern.
I decided I didn’t care that the hexagons in the print are white. Since I had some hexagon die cuts left from the card I shared on Tuesday, I wanted to use them. They are Very Vanilla.
Under the Back to Black designer paper, I’ve used a Basic Black cardstock base. And over the designer paper, I have a Silver Glimmer paper layer cut with Hexagon Hive. The black base allows the design on the edge of the designer paper, peeking out from the die cut, to pop.
I’ve placed a few random Very Vanilla hexagons stamped in black with an image from Honeycomb Hello. To these, I’ve added Black Sequins from the Love Story Project Life Accessory Pack (love the accessory packs).
One final piece is the 1/4″ inch Real Red circle punch tucked under the sequin in the upper right. It’s just one tiny hint of color.
Thanks for checking out my #stampingsunday creation.
