Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m Sara Levin aka the artfulinker. Today is Autism Awareness Day and I am participating in an Autism Awareness Day Blog Hop 2018. Our creations today are inspired by the graphics and colors associated with autism. Before we start the creative part of the journey, I thought I’d share one fact about autism:
“Whatever the cause, it is clear that children with autism and PDD are born with the disorder or born with the potential to develop it. Bad parenting does not cause it. It is not a mental illness. Children with autism are not unruly kids who choose not to behave. Furthermore, no known psychological factors in the development of a child have been shown to cause autism.”
Autism Awareness Day Blog Hop 2018
When it came to creating my card,
I was inspired by the iconic puzzle piece logo.
Using a similar color palette and the Tailored Tag Punch,
I created my main design.
Then, I used the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits to cut the word “love”
After cutting and adhering three of the word die cuts together,
I coated the top layer with Fine Tip Glue Pen.
By doing this, I gave the word a lacquered look.
After wrapping the Whisper White layer with Whisper White Baker’s Twine,
I added the die cut word.
Then, I finished the card with Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes that
I colored with Light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends.
Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my creation for the Autism Awareness Day Blog Hop 2018.
