Yesterday was the end of my whirlwind graduation announcement making. Between the special orders, I’ve made about 100 announcements and “thank yous” this last week. The timing of my Paper Pumpkin kit arrival was p-e-r-f-e-c-t! I wanted to create but didn’t want to plan. What I ended up doing was shooting this video:
so that you can see what came in the kit.
This morning I got up and wanted to make something but I’m still on a little bit of overload.
Like eating a delicious desert and wanting more but, you just can’t.
So glad Paper Pumpkin had everything prepped and planned. I decided I would just make what the directions said. Gasp! Yeah, I know I don’t usually do that.
Okay, I was going to completely follow the directions and then…well, I didn’t.
So what did I change here? I used the diagonal stripe stamp on the front of my envelope rather than the included bow. And I used some leftover bits of Gold Bakers Twine to create a tassel.
Tip: I was going to fold my envelope/pocket so that it crossed left to right rather than right to left as shown in the picture. But, crossing right to left means the tabs are secured on the inside of the pocket (cleaner looking) and there’s more room in your pocket.
And this is my card. Cute, right? And simple.
What’s that in the background you ask? LOTS of leftover stars from the Confetti Stars punch I used on some of those graduation announcements I mentioned at the top. Couldn’t throw them away. But, I haven’t decided what to do with them — shaker cards anyone?
Here is my other swerve away from the directions. I used the “x” or plus sign to create an asterisk.
I’ll be playing more with this kit today.
Time to come up with some alternate ideas!
