Welcome to the May Creation Station blog hop! This month we’re creating with guys in mind. Whether it’s for birthday, Fathers Day, sympathy, thank you or just because, I’m sure you’ll find something from this creative group that will meet your need.
I’ve created with the Going Global suite of products.
My first creation is a card.
It starts with a Lost Lagoon cardstock base that is topped with a piece of Going Places designer paper.
This particular design made me think of the ocean and the way that we see the Earth from space.
Over the designer paper layer is a piece of Vellum cardstock that has been embossed with the World Traveler folder.
To adhere the card, I spread liquid glue across all of the flat section of the embossed Vellum. This made the Vellum even more translucent so that more of the designer paper detail shoes through. I think it makes it look like the ocean.
Next, I took a dauber and Mossy Meadow ink pad and daubed Mossy Meadow across all of the land masses. I also used a dauber and Lost Lagoon ink to daub the horizontal and vertical lines created by the embossing folder.
Last, I used the Alphabet Rotary Stamp and Lost Lagoon ink to create my custom sentiment that was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock.
Thinking about gift giving occasions for the guys in our life, I gussied up a gift box.
I started with a Tag a Bag Gift Box. This Kraft box starts out being perfect for a masculine gift.
I added a belly band of Going Places designer paper to compliment the card above.
Then I added a band of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon to compliment the Sahara Sand/Delightful Dijon tones in the designer paper.
This band was topped by three windings of Gold Metallica Bakers Twine.
On the top,
I added a thread box using the Gold Metallica Bakers Twine.
And the final addition was the compass rose from Going Global inked in Lost Lagoon on Very Vanilla and punched with the 2″ circle punch then adhered with dimensionals.
I think he’ll love it.
I may have to make a trip to the farmers market for some handmade chocolates.
Or if you prefer the traditional tie for Fathers Day, that will fit too!
Thanks for stopping by!
Now it’s time to hop.
