Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m Sara Levin the artful inker. Today, I’m sharing with you a couple of alternative ideas for using the September Paper Pumpkin kit — Frights and Delights. And it just so happens that I’m also participating in the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop Frights and Delights. So, once you’ve taken a look at my creations (and purchased a kit or refill), you’ll want to hop along to the rest of the team and see what they’ve created with this month’s kit.
A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop Frights and Delights Kit
The September 2018 Frights and Delights Paper Pumpkin kit came packed with
enough product to make 24 treat bags.
Mine will be heading off to college (you’re never too old to enjoy a Halloween treat)!
As of this morning, there are still full kits and refills available!!
In order to purchase these, you must be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber.
If you are not already, you can fix that in one of two ways:
Purchase a prepaid subscription of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months
or subscribe month to month.
Don’t forget to activate that prepaid code!
That’s how the system will know you are a subscriber.
A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop Frights and Delights Card
For my card, I started with a Gorgeous Grape card base.
Then, I added a layer of Highland Heather.
Next, I added a 1-1/2″ Very Vanilla moon with some clouds from
Spooky Sweets in Basic Gray.
To those, I added a few of the little bats from the Frights and Delights stamp set.
Then, I created my “punch art” figure.
To make the body and cape, I used the smallest Stitched Shapes oval.
For the collar, I turned one of the die cut bats in the kit upside down.
And you’ve probably already guessed, I used one of the die cut ghosts in the kit for
his head (also upside down).
To color in his hair, I used Stampin’ Blends Basic Black in both Light and Dark.
And for the sentiment, I used a piece of one of the Frights and Delights die cut tags
and stamped it with a Frights and Delights sentiment in Basic Gray.
A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop Frights and Delights Treat Holder
For kids with allergies there is a Teal Pumpkin Project for Halloween.
The teal pumpkin signals that you have an allergen free treat.
So, I used that as my inspiration for my alternative Frights and Delights treat holder.
Though for my bag, I used Coastal Cabana.
To make my bag, I used the Gift Bag Punch Board.
It’s a quick and easy way to make bags!
Before assembling, I stamped the front and back of the bag with
a random pattern of bats and stars (and one spider I mistook for a star 🙂 )
Then, I used the remainder of the tag from my card.
To get the same edge, I used the Everyday Label Punch.
Both the sentiment and pumpkin are from the exlusive
Frights and Delights stamp set.

The punch art vampire is adorable!! Your bag is cute too, I love that you did it in a non-traditional Halloween color Very pretty.
Thanks Candy! He was a fun surprise.
Cute card! Love the allergy bag…had no idea they did that! Good to know!
Thanks June! Glad I could offer a quick tip in time for Halloween.
Oh my gosh – too creative! Love it!
Thanks Melanie! It’s always fun to come up with alternative ideas.
Can you Please tell me where I can find a list of treats for kids with allergies? I first saw the pumpkins in Target, but haven’t been able to find a list? TFS!
Thanks for asking Gloria! There are lists associated with searches for Teal Pumpkin Project on Google and Pinterest. And, I found one at foodallergy.org I’m sure none of these are all inclusive but, they gave some great starting ideas.
So unique! I love your alternate paper pumpkin card. The bag is also great. What great ideas.
Thank you Dianna! So glad you stopped in today. Hope to see you back again soon.
So very clever and creative how you created your Dracula!! Cute!
Thanks Karen! Glad you like my little dracula. Thanks for taking the time to let me know.
How clever, your dracula!
Thanks Jennifer and Dawn! Just goes to prove that a slightly messy creative space makes you more creative (not suggesting my creative space is messy or anything 😉 )
But that dracula…too adorable!
Wow! So cute he is! Love the card a LOT! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Jill! Glad you like him. And thanks for stopping in and sharing a comment.
Absolutely adorable! OH MYGOSH!!! Love your Dracula and your treat bag!
Thank you Kelly! I had a hard time wanting to change things — I loved the treat bags.
Love the punch art! I was never any good at that… Seriously cute though!
Thanks Melissa! This is the kind of punch art you don’t need to be good at — Stampin’ Up! did the hard part and it comes in the kit 🙂
:-O :-O :-O That dracula punch art!!! That’s ingenious. And I have to say, I’m really diggin’ that Coastal Cabana treat bag…not sure I would have ever grabbed that color for Halloween, but it’s scrumptious! Thanks for sharing 😀
Thanks Kimberly! I’m sure I wouldn’t have thought of Coastal Cabana had it not been for those lovely blue pumpkins you see in stores this time of year.
