Creation Station Blog Hop – Love Is In The Air

Creation Station Blog Hop

Welcome to our first Creation Station blog hop of the 2017!

Today, our theme is Love is in the Air.

Valentines Day, Weddings, Anniversaries…if it’s love we’ve got it.

My first creation is a card.

I used Lift Me Up…but, I had a little fun with it.

Over my Basic Black base, I have a layer of Whisper White that’s been embossed with the new Hexagon Dynamic embossing folder.

Before embossing though, I used an image from Timeless Textures inked in Memento Black.  It gives the perfect impression of a shadow!

Next, the large hot air balloon from Lift Me Up was inked with Versamark.  Then it was stamped on Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed in Gold.

Dies from Up & Away were used to cut out the hot air balloon and the Red Glimmer Paper heart bottle stopper.

Using the Labeler Alphabet and Memento Black ink, I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White before cutting it out by hand.

In the lower left corner are three tiny Gold Glimmer Paper hearts left from the project below.

And the inside of the card was finished with a piece of Whisper White and three more Gold Glimmer Paper hearts.

For my next project, I created a box — I love making 3D items!

I couldn’t wait to use the new Window Box Thinlits.

My box was cut from Basic Black cardstock and adhered together using Tear and Tape.

Then, I cut the decorative side panels from Gold Glimmer Paper using an accent die from the Window Box Thinlits.  These panels were adhered with Fast Fuse.

Tip: Peel the backing layer off of the Glimmer Paper and cut from the back side.  This makes it both easier to cut and easier to adhere.

For the top of the box, I traced the hexagon die in the Window Box Thinlits.  It’s just a bit smaller than the lid, which is perfect.

To the hexagon piece, I added a heart made from the small hot air balloon in Lift Me Up.  It was inked with Versamark and heat embossed in Gold on Basic Black.  Then I used my Paper Snips to freehand cut it into a heart shape.

The little Gold Glimmer Paper hearts for the border are more of the leftovers from the die cut panels on the side of the box.  They were adhered with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Using Fast Fuse, I adhered Gold Natural Trim to Very Vanilla Lace Trim.  Then using the Fast Fuse again, I ran a line of adhesive across the bottom and the top of the box.  Carefully place the ribbon along these lines of adhesive so that you’ve got enough at each end to tie a bow.  To finish the bow, I tucked in a bit of Gold Sequin Trim.

After tying the bow, I added the hexagon piece to the top of the box using Dimensionals. Be sure to use enough Dimensionals so this layer isn’t saggy but do not block the center channel.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Window Box and Lift Me Up card.
