Cups and Kettle Gift Card Holder

I’m beginning to think about upcoming holidays and end of school year needs.  On my mind today was teacher appreciation.  I’m assuming that schools everywhere have a day to a week where they shower their teachers with meals and gifts in appreciation of the job that they do with our children.  To that end, I started thinking about gift card holders.

Last year, I designed a cute gift card holder using the Circle Card Thinlit.

I decided to freshen it with some current products and with the teacher appreciation theme in mind.

Cups and Kettle Gift Card Holders for teacher appreciation from theartfulinker.com

As mentioned above, I started with the Circle Card Thinlit.  I made one holder in Melon Mambo and another in Bermuda Bay.  I think they look fresh and fun in both colors.

Here’s a video for making the basic holder.

Cute and easy!  The possibilities for it are endless — my favorite kind of possibilities 🙂

Here’s a closer look at one of today’s Cups and Kettle gift card holders.

Over my Bermuda Bay base, I added a piece of Whisper White seam binding as a closure for the gift card holder.  Then, I layered on a piece of Have a Cuppa designer paper.

Next, I used the Cups and Kettle framelits to cut the cup and its scalloped detail.  Though you can’t see it in the picture, I brushed on Clear Wink of Stella in between and just above and below the scallops.  It created a nice slightly shimmery band.  Plus, it hid my little oops!

Next, I used the cloud stamp from Sprinkles of Life.  The stamp was inked in Smoky Slate and then stamped off before stamping onto the Whisper White.  I used this for my layer of foam for my coffee.

“Thanks a” is also from Sprinkles of Life,  I just didn’t use “bunch”.  For “Latte”, I used the Alphabet Rotary stamp.  The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White in Basic Black ink.

On the inside, I’ve added a 2 1/2 circle of Whisper White for writing a message.

I need to make up a few of these for teachers and other people I need to thank in the near future.

Thanks for stopping by.
