Flurry of Wishes Wedding Card

It’s been another busy few days.  Friday night was the first football play off game and of course the band was there.  Our team won so, we’ll do it again this week.  We got home about 11pm and I went to bed so that I could get up at 2:30am to drive to Baltimore for On Stage Local with Stampin’ Up!

Saturday was such a fun day!  A chance to catch up with my demo friends.  The opportunity to play with new products from the Occasions Catalog.  These products will be available to you in January or in December if you join my team (Become a ProCraftinator).  And of course the chance to see lots of samples.

Today is another busy day as the orchestra has their concert featuring Dr. Lawrence Stomberg as the guest cellist.  So, I’ll spend the morning getting tuxes and gowns ready.

My Flurry of Wishes share today was inspired by a wedding invitation that I received from my friend Tracey.

I made this to share on the display board last weekend.  Stampin’ Up! asked that those of us who had applied for the Artisan Design Team bring a sample card.  This was my sample.

I went with clean and simple with lots of sparkle and shine.

Like a snowy day when the sun is bright and the sky is clear and all you see are the beautiful twinkles as the sun reflects off the ice crystals.

At the top of the card, I used the Softly Falling embossing folder on a piece of Vellum cardstock.  Embossing the Vellum makes the embossed spots turn white.

Tip:  The white spots from the embossing are a great place to hide your adhesive so that it does not show through the Vellum.

After adhering the embossed Vellum to the thick Whisper White base for the card, I used the Fine Tip Glue and randomly dotted it on some of the raised image.  Then I came back and sprinkled on Dazzling Diamonds.  This gave the top of the card a fine bit of shimmer.

Of course, we don’t want to forget the Silver embossed Flurry of Wishes snowflakes!

Mid-way down the card is the layered embellishment I created.  It started with one of the Snowflake Elements that I smooshed in my Versamark pad and then embossed with Silver.  I threaded the center hole with Silver Metallic thread and using it to hold on a streamer of Silver Sequin Trim created a quadruple loop bow.  This is topped with a Basic Rhinestone and the whole piece is layered on a Silver Metallic Doily.

Tip:  Use something other than your fingers to hold the snowflake as you heat the embossing powder.  The wooden element gets warms and it’s small — so your fingers could get burned.

At the bottom of the card, I used the Sleigh Ride Edgelits to create a shaped cut rather than a straight cut for my Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

For the sentiment, I stamped the “love” from Hello Life in Smoky Slate on Vellum and embossed it in clear.  The Vellum is backed with a piece of Silver Foil Metallic paper, the end of which was shaped using the Snow Flurry punch.  After rounding the corners on the other end of the sentiment piece, I accented it with three small Basic Rhinestones and half of a Flurry of Wishes snowflake.
