Spring Flowers Creation Station Blog Hop

Creation Station Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Creation Station blog hop!

Today, we’re all about Spring and Spring flowers.

My creations will be focused around using the fabulous Botanical Blooms and Botanical Builder Framelits.

For my first creation using the Botanical Blooms and Botanical Builder Framelits,

I created a piece of decor using a shadowbox frame that I had picked up from IKEA.

The color palette was inspired by something I flipped past on the internet a few days ago.

I’ve used Pink Pirouette and Mint Macaron for the leaves.

The Pink Pirouette leaves were stamped on the Whisper White cardstock base and then layered with the Mint Macaron fronds.  I love the texture those frilly leaves add.

The flowers are in Smoky Slate and Soft Sky with an accent of Dazzling Details Glimmer Paper for the stamens.

To shape the flowers, I used the non-pointed end of my Paper Piercing tool and my Stampin’ Pierce mat.  The gauge of the back end of the tool is broad enough to give a smooth, gentle curve to the petals.

My next creation is a traditional scrapbook page.

I started with a 12 x 12 piece of Old Olive cardstock.

Then, I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock on which I had used Crushed Curry ink refill and the Shaving Cream technique to create the marbled look.

The focal element is built around a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock for the photo mat meant to showcase two 3 x 5 photos.

I added a cascade of Rich Razzleberry flowers, cut with the Botanical Builder framelits, to the upper right hand corner of the mat and a single blossom to the left.

To the bottom right, I added a single strip of Bohemian washi tape.

And, the final accent was splattering of molten gold in the upper left.

Now it’s time to hop!  So depending upon how you arrived here, you’ll want to hop forward to Jen or back to Nicole.  Either way, you’re in for a treat!
