Welcome to this week’s Creation Station blog hop. Our theme this week is sympathy cards and our product focus is on decorative masks. I’m sure you’ll find a few things to inspire your cardmaking. So, let’s get started!
I’ve chosen to use Best Thoughts which has been one of my favorite stamp sets recently. I do go through periods of playing favorites.
I started wtih
one of the Happy Patterns masks and daubed Mint Macaron onto a Whisper White layer.
Over this layer, I added a piece of Vellum cardstock
on which was stamped the lovely flower from Best Thoughts.
The flower was inked in Smoky Slate.
Tip: Be careful when stamping on Velllum, as ink takes longer to dry. If you’re pressed for time, you can use a heat tool but again be careful. Too much heat can warp the Vellum.
Next, I added simple embellishments.
Silver Bakers Twine was wound around the two layers.
The sentiment, also from Best Thoughts, was inked in Smoky Slate. It is layered onto a piece of Mint Macaron. To soften the line of the sentiment layer, a small bit of a Tea Lace doily was added.
All these elements come together to make a soft creation that will not jar the senses of the recipient of this sympathy card.
Thanks for stopping by. Now it’s time to see what the rest of the team has to offer.
