Sunshine and Crocus

What a beautiful day!!  I came home after my volunteer stint at the high school and the sun was loving my crocus.  I can’t believe how long they’ve lasted this year.  Running into the house, I grabbed my camera so that I could share them with you.

Bright Yellow Crocus from my gardenThis is one of the clumps that’s dotted around.  Enjoying the look of this so much, I decided to try to create something like them.

What I ended up creating was a little floral arrangement of crocus and used the photo above and yesterday’s arrangement as stepping off points.

To create this pompom of crocus, I started with the Secret Garden framelits and Daffodil Delight cardstock.  The flowers were arranged using hot glue to hold them together.  Fringe Scissors were used to make the stamens.  And for the grassy foliage, I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut very thin strips of Gumball Green cardstock.  To finish, I wrapped a strip of Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin ribbon around my vase and adhered it with Glue Dots.

This is going to look lovely in my front room.  And, I don’t have to remember to water it.
