Scrapbooking Global November 2019 Blog Hop theme - selfie layout

Hi! I’m Sara Levin the artful inker. Welcome to my blog! Today is the Scrapbooking Global November 2019 Blog Hop. And our layout theme is “selfie”. Now as my friends and family can attest, I’m not much for having my picture taken. And when I do, it’s usually a fail. With that in mind, I hope you’ll enjoy today’s edition of a selfie fail! We laughed — you probably will too!

The November hop theme is “selfie”

Mom's Dance selfie layout for Scrapbooking Global November 2019 Blog Hop

Imagine you’re on the 50 yard line of Heinz Field.

It’s over 100 degrees down at the field level.

With you are 150 other band moms.

You’re surrounded by 310 University of Pittsburgh Varsity Band members.

They begin to play “Dancing Queen”

and you’re dancing with your favorite band member on the 50 yard line.

Reach into your pocket and pull out your phone to take a quick selfie

just as you finish.

No time for a second take since your favorite  bandther must rush back to formation to finish the halftime show

and you must get off the field.

There’s our almost selfie moment:

she’s almost in the shot, my hair is almost completely unruly with the humidity, my eyes are almost closed, I’m almost glowing

(wait, I think that’s the “perspiration”).

It’s a totally true to form photo – bad – LOL!

Don’t wait for perfect photos!

Scrapbook the bad ones, too.

When we look back at this page, we’ll laugh and remember the day fondly

(even if the picture isn’t “picture perfect”).

Thanks for stopping in today!

You are a true Gem Sara! i LOVE your page, especially with your story to go with it. It’s so true what you say, it’s the fun memories that make the whole reason for scrapbooking in the first place! I laugh too at my attempts of selfies…but who cares? You show happiness, joy and have captured a true moment in time.!! xxx

What a great story! I agree with you – scrapbook the not so perfect photos – especially if they have a story to tell!

Thank you, Delys! Laughing here — it’s ok to call it a bad photo — I think it is. But, you use what you have… It was definitely a fun experience!
