Roommate Gifts

It’s traditional for those rooming together to give a little something as a roommate gift.  Many of these items are handmade.  It’s a fun thing we do for each other whether we’ve known each other and roomed together for years or whether we’re first time roommates that are meeting each other once we’ve checked in.

Since Leadership is traditionally more business oriented, I gave the first few forms that I’ve created for a planner that I’m in the process of creating.  My Digital Studio (MDS) was great for pretty-ing (is this a word?) them up.  Just because something is useful doesn’t mean it can’t be pretty.

Mary gave each of us in the room this bunch of goodies.

She used the new Berry Basket die to hold all of the items.  Can you believe how much fits in one of these?  Have you used yours yet?

Each one was color coordinated.  There was a small, designer paper covered notebook perfect for conference notes.  A couple of treat bags were filled with goodies perfect for that mid-afternoon pick me up.  And a cute pack of tissues.

All of the pieces were personalized with our initials.  Mary used the Little Letters Thinlits to cut the “S” in the Treat Bag.  Then she slid a small piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock into the Treat Bag to highlight the cut out and make it pop.

She used the cut out “S” on the front of one of the other items.  And added a Bermuda Bay “S” to the front of the Berry Basket.

This made for a cute and quite welcome gift.

The other gifts you ask?  A lovely, handmade glass dish from one roommate.  And the other roommate gave me a box of sea salt caramels that she had wrapped using Stampin’ Up! supplies.  Where’s the picture?  Mmm, oops! I dug into those yummy caramels before I thought about photos.
