One in a Melon alternate Paper Pumpkin kit creations from theartfulinker.com

Hi!  Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop for June 2017.  Today the design team is offering up variations or alternate ideas for the One in a Melon Paper Pumpkin kit.  I know you’re going to see lots of fun ideas for using the products in this month’s kit.  So, be sure to visit all of the blogs!

The June 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit came with all sort of goodies!

And of course instead of making the cards and bags as designed,

I made something different since we’re sharing alternate ideas.

I changed up the look and created a different style card.

And, I turned the gift bag into a box.

For my card, I used a Thick Whisper White base.

Then, I added a ruffle created from a strip of the watermelon tissue paper in the kit.

Over the tissue ruffle is a thin strip of watermelon paper.

I cut this from one of the gift bags in the kit.

Next, I cut a scalloped Melon Mambo circle with the Layering Circles Framelits.

Over that is a Lemon Lime Twist circle cut with another of the Layering Circles.

I stamped the outside edge of the circle with the half circle stamp in the Paper Pumpkin Kit.

The stamp was inked in Emerald Envy.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set included in the kit

onto a piece of Whisper White.

After cutting banner ends in the strip, I added it to the card using Dimensionals.

For my next alternate Paper Pumpkin project, I turned one of the gift bags into a gift box.

I cut part of the bag off (I used part of that to decorate my card above).

Then, I scored at 1-1/2″ down from the open top of the bag

before cutting each corner down to the new score line.

Then, I used my Gift Bag Punch Board to punch both ends of each tab.

They’re so rounded and pretty!

After creating a Whisper White belly band, I added ruffles to both sides made from watermelon tissue paper.

Finally, I added a bow to the top (it’s another bit of the bag that I cut away at the beginning).

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my alternate One in a Melon creations!

These are so sweet! I love the clean and simple look. Your box is a simple change from the bag, which gives us another option for gifts. Thanks.
