July Paper Pumpkin Alternate Projects

Today is my monthly Paper Pumpkin get together.  Any of my local customers who subscribe to Paper Pumpkin are welcome to come and play as a group.  It’s a fun way to complete the projects in the kit, chat and have the opportunity to make one or two alternate projects.

I spent some time yesterday working on alternate ideas for this month’s kit.  As always, the exclusive stamp set included – this month is Thanks a Latte -is very versatile.

Here are two of my alternate ideas for the July Paper Pumpkin – Thanks a Latte.

July Paper Pumpkin, Thanks A Latte alternate card from theartfulinker.com

For this card, I used one of the card bases that was included in the kit as well as one of the floral, gray layers.  To this, I added a strip of Whisper White cut to 1 1/2 x 5 1/2.  To space the cups evenly across this strip, I started my stamping in the center and worked out.  The middle cup with the sentiment was stamped on a separate piece of cardstock and cut by hand (I wanted to save the die cut cups in the kit).  It’s popped up on a dimensional.  The orange banners are pieces of die cut stickers that are included in the kit.

Tip: to cut out the inside of the handle, I used the 1/4″ and 1/8″ handheld punches.  No real cutting involved.

For my second alternate card, I made a love note size – 3 x 3.

For this card, I used a piece of Whisper White 100lb cardstock for the base. Then I stamped the cup from the Thanks A Latte stamp set three times in Cucumber Crush (one of this month’s inks).  To the side of the love note, I added strips from two of the die cut stickers included in the kit.

To stack my cups, I made a mask.

The cup fits perfectly on a small sticky note.  I stamped with the sticky at the bottom of the cup so that I could trim the little bit of excess paper from the top of the cup.  This left me with plenty of sticky.

Then just move the sticky note before stamping to add each cup.

I decided that my card above needed just a little something more.

I think adding the additional stamped image jazzed up the cups just enough yet keeps this a simple card.

Oh! and I did use the mask again when adding the image to the cups.
