Holiday Decor Luminary

Did you enjoy the beautiful moon the last couple of nights?  I’m one of those stop and smell the roses kind of gals.  I watched it rise, checked on it mid-evening and then set my alarm to get up and watch it set — just beautiful!  And of course the benefit of watching it set is that you can then also watch the sun rise.  This was the perfect way to end a busy weekend that included a craft show.  Thank you to everyone who dropped by!

During the summer, I purchased several of the refills for the Lovely Little Wreath Paper Pumpkin kit.  I saw future potential for them.  Well, today is the future!

I’ve turned it into a simple, elegant piece of holiday decor.

The wreath is super simple to make!  I even had some leaves left over — I’ve got a couple of ideas swirling for them.

Since this one is for the holiday season, I wanted to glitz it up just a bit.  So, I added a length of Gold Sequin Trim.  Again – easy!

Then, I set about creating my luminary insert.

I used a 5″ x 11″ piece of Vellum cardstock for my luminary insert.

Then, I added trees cut from Whisper White using the Perfect Pines Framelits.  All the detail pieces in this set were perfect to add interest.

Next, I traced the details on each tree with the Fine Tip Glue Pen and sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds.

This added just enough bling to make the luminary festive during the day.

And when lit…

it’s equally beautiful.

Remember to only use something flameless such as an LED candle.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my simple, elegant holiday luminary!
