First Frost for TGIFC180

First Frost for TGIFC180 card from

Hi!  Welcome to my blog.  I’m Sara Levin the artful inker.  Today, I’m playing with color.  Well really, every day I play with color.  But today, I created with First Frost for TGIFC180 which is a color challenge.  Let’s take a look!

TGIFC180 color challenge

Here’s the TGIFC180 color challenge.

Fun, right!?!

I can’t tell you how much this color combination appealed to me!

It’s just possible that I am feeling a little rebellious when it comes to

using the traditional Fall colors.

Eventually, I will get to them.

But, I’m just not ready yet.

On my Whisper White layer, I started by stamping the berries from First Frost

in Mango Melody at both full strength and stamped off.

Doing this adds a little more texture.

Then, I stamped some of the spiky, viney pieces in Melon Mambo

and cut them with a Frosted Bouquet framelit.

Over that, I added a Basic Black oval cut with a Stitched Shapes framelit.

Than, I added some Vellum leaves.

They add more texture without adding more color.

For the flowers, I used both the large and small First Frost blooms.

After stamping in Coastal Cabana and cutting them out, I used one end of the

Take Your Pick tool to distress some of the flowers.

I love the kind of shabby chic look it gave the flowers!

Next, I added a tight Basic Black mat to the Whisper White focal layer.

After adhering the layer to the Thick Whisper White base,

I added Clear Rhinestones.
