Feeling a Little Painterly

I was being oh so productive this morning.  Right away I pulled out Butterfly Basics.  I knew I had to get my creation started, with luck finished, before I headed out to meet a friend for coffee and do a little volunteering.  Let me just say, my vision went waaay wrong!  So, I left things on my counter and headed out.

After getting home and organizing for a fundraiser, I gave it another stab.  Much better…and much cleaner.

Butterfly Basics and Stacked with Love

I started by stamping the flower in Basic Gray.  I wanted the outline but not as bold as you would get with black ink.

The detail in this stamp is great for guiding the shading.  To take advantage of that, I pulled out my Old Olive Blendabilities and set to work on the leaves.

Next, I worked on shading the flowers and buds with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities.  When I was done I thought it didn’t even look stamped.  Those Blendabilities definitely take my art up a notch!
