It’s a rainy, summer day here today.  And even though it’s rainy, all I can think about are bright colors.  I guess that’s because we have a graduation party this afternoon for one of my daughter’s friends.  It seems like we’ve known them forever.  This girl is the first of the group to graduate and I know she’s going to love the transition to college at the end of the summer.

Anyway, I pulled out Amazing Birthday and decided to play with it a little differently today.  I might have mentioned that I am having a thing for bright colors today.

For the sentiment, I masked each part, inked and stamped it separately.  Then, each piece was trimmed closely and layered onto an embossed Cucumber Crush banner. Angling each piece added some whimsy and fun.

After adding a layer of Cherry on Top designer Paper, the banner was attached with dimensionals.  Then, every other piece of the sentiment was raised on dimensionals for added interest.

The final touch is the Daffodil Delight paper clip in the upper left that has been embellished with a Basic Rhinestone.  I’m going to enjoy working cardstock paperclips into my creations.  They’re an easy way to add a little zing.
