Hi! My name is Sara Levin, aka The Artful Inker. Looking back, it seems I’ve always enjoyed doing something creative with my hands –
- baking: those batches of gingerbread cookies where each cookie had to be dressed differently; and the cakes!
- gardening: the fun of planning out the gardens around my house and the annual planters.
- making things: embroidery, macrame, Halloween costumes, tablescapes… the list goes on and on.
My dad and I were always trying out some new craft as I grew up. There are days when I’m creating and he is very present. I think he would be amused (in a good way) that this is the way I spend my days now. Long story long, my love for creating led me to Stampin’ Up!
In my head, I’m just a girl who creates cards and other things with stamps, ink and paper. For years my friends have called me an “artist” – nah, it’s ink and paper. When they say, “call yourself a collage artist.” In my mind I say, “okay, I’ve made collages since elementary school and cards are a kind of collage.” I think we can all be collage artists!
I’ve gotten to learn so many new things and meet friends from around the world thanks to Stampin’ Up! It has been the perfect business to go with my somewhat erratic lifestyle that includes family, volunteering and lots of books…Oh! and now ink…lots of ink!!
